Guidelines for OLE Producers

Ahead of time:

**Call teacher and ask how you can help.  Check to see if they want you to photocopy anything.  Tell them to look at website (www.oleanchorage.org) for teacher information.

**Ask them if there is a group they are associated with who should be notified about this class.  Get a contact name and e-mail if there is.

**Ask teacher is he/she wants a cap on the class.

**Ask teacher to send Kee Miner (keeminer@ak.net) a description of the course and/or a syllabus and biographical information well before the newsletter is to be sent out.  Kee also edits the material for the website.

**Act as a sounding board for the teacher and/or offer suggestions and guidance about what fits in well with the interests of the membership and the overall schedule.

Right before class:

**Send current class lists to them as they come out and bring one to class with you.

**Be sure teacher knows which room they have been assigned.

**Before the first day of class, learn how to use the audio-visual equipment in the room (DVD player, projector, overheads, powerpoints, etc).  You can’t count on any technical help the day of the class.

**Do chair arrangement (circles or rows?) before students show up.

During class:

**Have sign ready to put outside of classroom (bring tape with you) if one is not there.

**Greet people at door and check off names on your list.

**For new people, have sign-up forms for OLE and be ready to register new participants.  Bring extra copies of the latest newsletter for new people.  Have nametags and pens available so people can wear nametags if they want to (this is optional).

**Check to see where coffee/tea is for a break or before class.  Tell people where the restrooms are.

**Introduce teacher/facilitator at the start of the first class and introduce yourself as the OLE producer.   Write the name of the OLE website on the board (oleanchorage.org).
